Tips to ensure your business stays on track even if the weather seems to be against you.

Posted

We all know how quickly the weather can shift and catch us ill-prepared in North Central Washington.  We had an early dose of frost in November that let us know things were changing. When the weather limits how we do business, it can be detrimental to the bottom line, especially in the last weeks of the year.  How do you prepare your business and your staff for the challenges that can turn a negative into a positive with your customers and keep you on track?

Prompt Communication:

Communicate early and often with your customers about any changes in business operations due to cold weather, such as adjusted hours, closures, or delays. Utilize email, social media, and your company website to keep customers informed.

Safety Measures:

Prioritize customer safety by addressing winter-related hazards. Keep walkways and entrances clear of ice and snow, and provide adequate lighting in parking areas. Clearly communicate any safety precautions or changes to help customers navigate your business safely. If an entrance is closed, direct customers to the new entrance well before they get to the door.

Online Customer Support:

Enhance your online customer support channels to address inquiries or issues related to cold weather. Be responsive to customer queries through email, social media, or live chat, providing helpful information or assistance in a timely manner.

By getting ahead of the needs and concerns of your customers during the cold weather, you not only enhance their experience but also strengthen their loyalty to your business. These thoughtful measures demonstrate a commitment to customer satisfaction and well-being, fostering positive relationships that can endure throughout the seasons.
