Robin June Cooke

Posted

Robin June Cooke was born in Eureka, Kansas on June 30, 1925.

Robin spent most of her youth in Santa Barbara, California. It was there that Robin met Robert Lawrence and they were married shortly after high school. They had their oldest son, Bobby, and then moved to Stevens Pass. In that setting, they welcomed Joel and Tom to their family. Eventually, Robin and Robert went in different directions.

Robin later married Bob Cooke. Robin, Bob, and the boys loved camping at Wapato Point. Robin and Bob eventually purchased a cabin on Lake Chelan that had cold running water, limited electricity, and an outhouse. They rebuilt it into a beautiful home with all of the modern conveniences where they lived for over 50 years. In 2005 Robin and Bob moved into town. At the lake house and in town, Robin had a warm heart, loved people, and welcomed family, friends, and those in need into their home. Robin and Bob had many wonderful years together before his death in 2013.

A few years after Bob passed away, Robin crossed paths with Ken Polson. They found they loved spending time together and Ken became her partner in life until his death in 2021.

In her life Robin worked successfully as a restaurant manager, school bus driver, buyer for Aston Drug/ Aston’s Cards and Gifts, and as a realtor for many years. She actively supported several other causes to support members of the community.

In 2022, Robin moved to Vancouver, WA, to be close to family. Robin enjoyed her last years of life and peacefully passed away on April 20, 2024. Robin was preceded in death by her husband Bob; parents Marley and Grace; two brothers Jimmy and Vince; one sister Daphne; and one son Joel (Nancy also deceased). She is survived by three sisters, Dotty, Sally, and Janis; two sons, Bob (Norma); Tom (Kristin); seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews and their children.

We love Robin and will miss her dearly.
