MANSON — Chelan County deputies arrested two people after a property owner reported trespassers at a vacation home on the 1900 block of Lakeshore Drive in Manson.

The owner, who uses the house as a short-term rental (Airbnb), contacted the Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 28 after spotting two people on security video moving around the property when no guests were scheduled. The home was not occupied or rented at the time and was listed for sale.

Deputies reviewed the video and identified a vehicle linked to the suspects. When they arrived at the residence, a caretaker let them in, where the deputies found evidence of forced entry and signs that several people had been staying in the basement.

While deputies were still on site, the same vehicle seen in the video drove past the property. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and detained two occupants, later identified as Jose Eduardo Ramos-Arellano, 20, of Palisades, and Aida Perez-Ramirez, 19, of Bridgeport.

Both admitted to being inside the residence, according to the Sheriff’s Office. They were arrested and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for residential burglary. Ramos-Arellano also faces charges of driving while license suspended (3rd degree) and had outstanding warrants.

The Sheriff’s Office mission states it is “to contribute to a safe and productive community, committed to earning public trust and providing highly trained professionals.” In this case, the department proved that through the combined use of security-camera evidence and prompt traffic intervention, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to property protection, patrol responsiveness and investigative follow-through.
