CHELAN - Local organizations are joining forces to host a comprehensive substance use prevention event aimed at supporting families across the Chelan Valley region. The community gathering, scheduled for February 26, will be held at the Chelan High School Performing Arts Center.
The event, which welcomes families from Chelan, Manson, and Entiat, will begin with dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a two-hour presentation featuring key speakers from regional support organizations. School Resource Officer Bushy from the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, Armando Davila of Together for Youth, and Probation Officer Mireya Garibay from the At-Risk Youth Program will lead the presentation.
The evening will include a round table discussion with representatives from multiple community organizations, including New Path, CVCH, Thrive Chelan Valley, CAFE Youth Empowerment and Support Program, Youth Mobile Crisis, and Together for Youth. These organizations will share resources and information about their support services.
To ensure accessibility for all community members, the event organizers will provide free childcare services and Spanish language translation throughout the presentation. The venue, located at 215 Webster Ave in Chelan, will host both the dinner and educational segments of the program.
This collaborative effort represents a significant partnership between law enforcement, youth support services, and community health organizations to address substance use prevention in the greater Chelan Valley area.
The event is free and open to all families from the three participating communities. Those interested in attending can find the full presentation at the Chelan High School Performing Arts Center from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
