CHELAN — The Lake Chelan Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Chelan's Historic Ruby Theatre, featuring a presentation on Chief Long Jim by his granddaughter, Ramona Wilson.
Wilson has been compiling her family's history and will share stories about her grandfather, who was born in 1860 and lived in the Chelan and Brewster areas.
"EVERYONE IS WELCOME!" the organization stated in its announcement.
The event will begin with a brief business meeting of the Historical Society before Wilson takes the stage to present "Life Stories of Chief Long Jim."
According to the Historical Society, this is a free event open to the public. The organization expressed enthusiasm about the presentation, noting they are "excited to have Ramona Wilson as our guest speaker at this year's annual meeting."
Wilson's presentation will focus on her grandfather's life and experiences in the region during a period of significant historical change in North Central Washington.
The Historic Ruby Theatre, where the event will be held, is itself a landmark in Chelan and regularly hosts community and cultural events.
