Nutcracker Museum

Posted
Thank you for the article about the Daly collection, but there was one big mistake. George and I are not the owners of the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. Founders, yes, but the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is its own non-profit entity. George and I have donated all of our collection to the museum, and yes, even the building, so that the museum would remain as it is, to be enjoyed by Leavenworth visitors for many generations to come. As long as we are able, we will continue to donate our time serving on the board of directors and as curators.

There have been no funds from the city or any other organization or governmental body to help support the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. That is why the Leavenworth Ale-Fest was begun - as a fund-raiser for the museum to help with operating expenses, continued educational programs, and to add additional specimens. The museum board is very appreciative of the help received by Bob and Nancy Kelly, Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Distributing, Odom Corporation and others in the community to make this a successful event.

The museum board of directors is honored to receive the gift of the Pat Daly nutcrackers. There will be a special display in her memory showing the diversity of her collection.
